409 stainless steel is a kind of general chromium and titanium stabilized ferritic stainless steel, which is mainly used in automobile exhaust system. It contains 11% chromium, which is the minimum amount to form a passivation surface facial mask with corrosion resistance of stainless steel. It has good high temperature corrosion resistance, medium strength, good formability and overall cost.
Compared with carbon steel, 409 alloy has strong corrosion resistance and can be used as a substitute for carbon steel in mildly corrosive environments. Because of its high corrosion resistance and high-temperature oxidation, it has advantages.
