Aluminum rod is a kind of aluminum products. The melting and casting process of aluminum rod includes melting, purification, impurity removal, gas removal, slag removal and casting. Aluminum rods can be roughly divided into 8 categories according to the metal elements they contain.
According to the different metal elements contained in aluminum rods, aluminum rods can be roughly divided into:
① 2000 series aluminum bar represents 2A16 (LY16), 2A02 (LY6). 2000 series aluminum rod is characterized by high hardness, among which copper content is the highest, about 3-5%. 2000 series aluminum rod belongs to aviation aluminum material, which is not often used in conventional industry. It is a heat-treatable alloy with high strength, easy machining, easy turning and general corrosion resistance. After heat treatment (T3, T4, T351), the mechanical properties are significantly improved, mainly used in aircraft structure, rivets, truck wheel hub, propeller assembly and other structural parts.
② 4000 series aluminum rod represents 4A01 4000 series aluminum rod belongs to the series with higher silicon content. The silicon content is usually between 4.5 and 6.0%. Belongs to construction materials, mechanical parts, forging materials, welding materials; Low melting point, good corrosion resistance, heat resistance, wear resistance.
③ 5000 series aluminum rod represents 5052, 5005, 5083, 5A05 series. 5000 SERIES ALUMINUM ROD belongs to the more commonly used alloy aluminum rod series, the main element is magnesium, magnesium content between 3-5%. Can also be called aluminum magnesium alloy. The main characteristics are low density, high tensile strength, high elongation. The weight of aluminum-magnesium alloy is lower than that of other series under the same area, and it is widely used in conventional industry.
